Frederick Massaro is a Project Manager for Avison Young’s Boston office. Fred has a lengthy career in the public and private sectors spanning construction, facilities, and property management. Fred’s career began as a mid-sized general contractor as an estimator and project manager and expanded to VP with oversight of business operations. Fred moved on to the public sector as Massport’s Program Manager for Residential Soundproofing and Community Mitigation programs, soundproofing over 11,000 dwelling units within Logan Airport’s most noise-impacted communities. He then moved on to Logan’s Facilities Department as Asset Coordination Manager which included the implementation of Massport’s first Asset Management Program, ensuring sustainable maintenance processes for all Massport Real Estate. At Northeastern Fred served as Associate Director of Trade Operations with Maintenance and Operations responsibilities for 80 Buildings, totaling 8.5 M s/f of Residential, Academic, and Administrative real estate on three campuses. This included the supervision of 80 Tradespersons (6 supervisors / 74 tradespersons) and a $13M annual operating budget. As Director of Capital Projects & Planning for the City of Somerville, MA, Fred had oversight of all city buildings, including maintenance, renovation, ground-up vertical construction, and the city’s comprehensive Building Master Plan and was the lead for implementation of a DPW Preventive Maintenance planning and Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Most recently Fred served as a Sr. Project Manager at Pfizer’s Andover location with oversight of simultaneous laboratory renovations.
