Ilona Doerfler joined Avison Young in 2019 and, as Controller of Mid-Atlantic Property Accounting, oversees the accounting and financial reporting for over 150 properties across more than 30 clients. Ilona supervises all property accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, lease administration, property treasury, audit compliance, and lender compliance. She works closely with property managers and clients to provide insightful financial analysis and support business development efforts.

Ilona brings 20 years of progressive accounting experience, primarily within the commercial real estate industry and extensive experience in developing accounting policies and procedures, implementing internal controls, and optimizing financial reporting.

Before joining the Avison Young team, Ilona worked as a Controller at Meridian Senior Living. Prior to that, she held various accounting management positions with real estate development and management firms such as First Potomac Properties, Marriott International, and General Growth Properties. Ilona began her career in public accounting and, as a Magna Cum Laude graduate, was recruited by PricewaterhouseCoopers upon completing her Bachelor of Science degree.
