Jim Proehl is the Principal and Senior Director of Real Estate Management Services for the West Region at Avison Young. He previously served as the President of Property Services, West, at Madison Marquette, joining Avison Young in 2022 after Madison Marquette was acquired.

In his current role, Jim is responsible for managing a portfolio of over 40 million square feet across 225 properties, valued at a total of $10 billion, and serving 75 clients. He brings over 40 years of commercial real estate experience to this role, including asset management, office development, finance, and property management.

Before his current role at Avison Young and his role at Madison Marquette, Jim worked at PMRG for over 28 years, including five years as the firm’s President of the Western Division. Prior to PMRG, he served as the Development Manager for Tooley & Company, where he managed the development of multiple high-rise Class A office buildings, each exceeding 400,000 square feet.

Jim holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tulsa, with an emphasis in real estate. He is a past National Board member of NAIOP and a past President of NAIOP Southern California. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Board of BOMA Orange County and is a Charter Member of the University of California, Irvine MBA mentorship program.
