John-david W. Franklin CRX CLS is senior vice president for Avison Young for retail leasing services. He is responsible for leasing and merchandising the regional retail portfolio in NE United States as well as new business initiatives, client relationship management, and retailer relationships.

John-david has been with Avison Young since 2024 and has extensive knowledge of retail leasing and merchandising for lifestyle centers, regional malls, university campuses, outlet centers, community development corporations (CDC) master planning, and peripheral and pad site leasing and development.

Prior to joining Avison Young, John-david was Senior Vice President for Madison Marquette Real Estate Services. A 20 year veteran of MMRS, he was responsible for the retail leasing in the NE United States. John-david was educated in Philadelphia. With over 40 years of shopping center industry experience, he is an active member of ICSC, served as state
director for Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey, and is an active instructor for both domestic and International Schools for Professional Development. He has been a regular instructor and Dean at the University of
Shopping Centers at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2017 he was awarded the CoStar Power Broker Award and in 2020 he was honored as recipient of the ICSC Trustees Distinguished Service Award A competitive Masters’ rower, he has served as a Director of the Vesper Boat Club in
Philadelphia. John-david is also actively involved with USRowing and the alumni associations of the University of Southern California, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is a member
of the Board of Directors of the St. Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia and he serves as Treasurer of the Friends of the Schuylkill Navy of Philadelphia.
