As a Principal Surveyor at Avison Young, Mark has been providing expert assistance to mineral, waste management and energy-related clients for 27 years. His expertise encompasses business rates and valuation in a highly specialised sector. The confidence that he instils in clients is reflected in the fact that he has been responsible for carrying out business rate assessments on the majority of UK waste-to-energy plants.

Mark has also presented on the impact of business rates on composting, AD and energy storage projects, for the Renewable Energy Association. Recent settlements include the 650,000 tonnes per-annum multifuel plant at Ferrybridge, the Veolia SELCHP plant in South London, and the biomass CHP facilities which service the Olympic Park at Stratford.
