Rachel Shier is the Regional Associate Director for the Northeast in Avison Young’s Real Estate Management Services Group.

Rachel is responsible for business development and client relations as well as the management and oversight of the group’s existing portfolio, consisting of commercial office, retail, industrial and educational facilities. In addition, Rachel focuses on supporting Avison Young’s Center of Excellence initiatives, which includes collaborating with the REMS Managing Director, Market Leaders, Property Managers, Property Accounting, IT and HR to streamline standard operating procedures and ensure efficiencies.

Prior to joining Avison Young in 2016, Rachel worked at CompassRock Real Estate where she was a member of the management team overseeing the entire commercial and multifamily portfolio across the United States, including Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town, the largest multi-family residential rental asset in the country.

During her time at CompassRock, Rachel was elevated several times, taking on progressively more senior roles within the organization. She began in the Operations/Public Safety Department, advancing her career to a role in the Legal Department and ultimately taking on a key role at a national level in the National Programs and Procurement Department where her core responsibilities included transitioning properties in and out of the North America Portfolio along with national contract negotiations and procurement efforts.
