Thomas Kaufman is a Principal in Avison Young’s New York City office, where he specializes in the Downtown Manhattan submarket. Thomas brings over 40 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young, with a well-regarded track record of tenant representation and acting as leasing agent on behalf of major commercial property owners.

Thomas’s significant agency assignments throughout his career include 235,000 SF at 1 Broadway, 176,000 SF at 83 Maiden Lane, 700,000 SF at 20 Exchange Place, 457,000 SF at 100 Wall Street, 380,000 SF at 80 Broad Street, 350,000 SF at 65 Broadway and the 3.2 MSF office portfolio for The Trump Organization, including 767 Fifth Avenue (GM Building), 725 Fifth Avenue and 40 Wall Street. In addition, he has arranged financing or the sale of properties including 850 Third Avenue, Park Avenue Tower, 45 Broadway Atrium, 20 Exchange Place, 140 William Street and 30 Wall Street.

In addition to his record of corporate tenant representation, Thomas has extensive experience working on behalf of non-profits, including The YWCA Retirement Fund, The Watson Foundation, The Whiting Foundation, American Numismatic Society, Literacy Assistance Center, Girls Inc., Inroads Inc., the Council on Accreditation, the Hetrick-Martin Institute Inc. and Olivet University.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Thomas served as Chief Executive Officer at InterRelate Group, LLC, where he managed business development, established strategic partnerships and spearheaded the management of overall brokerage services. He also spent seven years as an Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield and prior to that was with the New York office of CB Richard Ellis as a Senior Vice President.
